This artwork represents Kenji’s perspective on Singapore’s journey from its humble beginnings to the dynamic city it is today. He captures how our home, once a small island, has grown and thrived through resilience and progress. By weaving together scenes of the past and present, Kenji hopes to show Singapore’s spirit of perseverance and the importance of remembering where we came from.
Artist Profile
Kenji (b.1994) is a hard-of-hearing visual artist who works across both 2D and 3D anime-style art. Growing up surrounded by games, stories, and illustrations, he developed a deep love for imaginative worlds and expressive characters. Today, he creates with the hope of bringing the same joy and wonder to others that these influences once gave him. His works often carry a playful, vibrant energy, reflecting his unique perspective and passion for storytelling through art.
As part of ART:DIS’ Emerging Artist programme, Kenji continues to refine his craft and explore new creative possibilities within the anime style he loves. With a keen eye for detail and a drive to innovate, he blends traditional and digital techniques to produce dynamic, character-driven pieces. Through his art, Kenji aims not only to entertain but also to inspire, offering audiences a glimpse into his world and the limitless potential of imagination.
